Hunan

Hunan is a province of bold beauty and even bolder flavors.

Home to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – those towering quartz-sandstone pillars that inspired the floating mountains in Avatar. Walk on the glass bridge, ride the Bailong Elevator up a cliff, and feel very, very small among nature's giants.

But Hunan is not just about mountains.
Visit Fenghuang Ancient Town (Phoenix Town) – where wooden stilt houses hang over dark green rivers, locals dry fish on their balconies, and lanterns glow softly at night. It looks like a painting. It feels like a poem.

And then there's the food.
Hunan cuisine is famous for being spicy, smoky, and unapologetically bold. Chairman Mao's favorite – red-braised pork – melts in your mouth. Steam fish heads with chopped chili will make you sweat and smile at the same time.

Hunan does not whisper. It roars.
